No. We provide the space at no cost in exchange for the atmosphere and education your group provides to our guests.
-
No. Guilds are Independent Participant Groups who attend for their own enjoyment and the promotion of their specific craft or history. We do not utilize "volunteers" for our business operations; instead, we host your independent group as a guest attraction.
-
Can our guild accept tips or donations? We allow guilds to display a discrete "Donation Chest" or "Educational Fund" at their site. However, active solicitation (calling out to guests for money, or mentioning your donation bin) is strictly prohibited.
Any collection container must be period-appropriate (wood, brass, or iron - no plastic jars) and should be used to help your group cover the costs of your educational displays and historical research. -
As we are a one day event, and due to park regulations, we do not have the capability for overnight camping.
-
All participating guilds must follow all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations. This includes adhering to fire codes, public health guidelines, and our event’s specific Peace-Tying Policy for all real period weapons (a bright colored neon zip tie). No weapons are allowed to be unsheathed at any time during the event. We recommended leaving all weapons at home and going for a costume appropriate “fake” weapon. Foam, plastic and other non-lethal costume weapons are not required to be peace-tied. Your group is responsible for its own internal management and safety. Security will inspect your group and will escort you out, if you are found to be in violation of our rules.
We do not allow projectiles of any sorts onto the event grounds. -
The set-up time for your guild is dependent on the category of your guild. If you do not have a fixed structure (canopy, tent, live performance) then your guild may show up at any time (with estimated time of arrival discussed ahead of time, for inspection purposes)
If you have a fixed structure or performance area, please reach out to us and mention this in the summary field of your application. All fixed structure set-ups follow our vendor regulations and set up times, which are available here -
If you are performing, or showing up to the village without charging a fee for service or show, your group would be considered a guild, not a vendor, or a performer.
